    Test Drives

No luck at Southport, Newstead or Springwood.

This weekend we'll be off to Kedron, Redcliffe and Ipswich......and if no luck there I guess a weekend away to the Sunshine Coast or Toowoomba is on the cards.......however it's a long way to Toowoomba with an unhappy wife

Gee. You blokes are playing with fire. Remember the mantra of this forum- 'Don't knock the dealers!'.

I did once (sort of) and am still smarting.

    Needless to say, no sale!
The dealer did you a favour! They were a crap car. Way too expensive for such a bad engine that only came to life in 2nd gear over 6000rpm when you were already doing over 80kph.... pointless on the road.

There's nothing wrong with knocking dealers, it's just that people need to realise that there are two sides to the story

Drove the outgoing (2nd hand) 307 hdi touring and then was waiting 20+ minutes in carpark for guy to return w keys to 308 hdi touring. Went upstairs to showroom and found him negotiating with another customer.... Ummmmm WTF!!!!!????

He spotted me and my wife (combined with bemused/unimpressed look) and looked very embarassed. I walked up and told him not to worry- we were off to VW.

Wrote email to trivette director of sales. To his credit he replied with an apology. But we bought a VW. Bad trivette- very very bad.
I'll admit, it was not trivett. I shopped them though and the dealer we bought through was 3.5k cheaper.

I had the same trivett exerience tbh.

    Test Drives

    Hi all,

I'm not knocking the dealers, just making a point that without cars to test drive they are making it hard for themselves.

Most on this forum would choose VW over most other brands but if the dealer had customers who had never had a VW, it is hard to convince them to buy a car "sight unseen".....you know the story..."you'll love the car...trust me, I'm a car salesman"

My wife is the perfect example of a typical customer. The model VW we are looking at is more expensive than an equivalent Focus, Cruse, Corolla, Mazda etc and without the possibility of driving a Golf it is hard to explain the price difference. My wife needs to be convinced that the Golf is worth the extra cost......you'll never do that if she can't drive one.
