Sounds like the clock coil spring behind the steering wheel, quite easy to check.

Disconnect battery negative cable, ground yourself to the door striker of the car or chassis, turn steering wheel 1/4 degrees to the left, you should be able to feel a 'slot' behind the steering wheel, put a 8mm thick flat head screwdriver in there and turn it to the right, repeat it for the right side (turn your wheel 1/4 degrees right) to release the airbag, remove airbag connectors from clock coil spring (MAKE SURE YOU HAVE GROUNDED YOURSELF SO SO YOU DONT ACCIDENTLY SET THE AIRBAG OFF IN YOUR FACE FROM STATIC ELECTRICITY), remove the multispline holding the steering wheel on and remove steering wheel, clock coil spring is right behind it, I'm pretty sure you will find it's making the noise, spin it afew times to check..

now, that must be a stupid question, but how do i ground my self to the car? and any idea on where i can get a replacement? original or replacment.

All you need to do is just simply touch the striker of the car (where the door lock hits the metal bracket) or touch a piece of the chassis. You'll probably need to go genuine but test it like I said before you buy one to make sure that's what it is. Also remember you dont wanna damage the new spring, so turn it all the way to the left or right, count how many turns you turn it, then go back all the other way (opposite to the way you've just turned) half that number and turn it back half, e.g if you did 7 full spins to get it to the right, turn it back 3.5 to the left, do not just install it or else you wont be able to basic set your steering angle sensor and your turns will be stuffed up and you can damage the new coil spring.
