I rather like the red grille, I think it gives the car a very aggressive look. That plus the black paint by the fog lamps. Nice work!

Love what you've done to the front end. Don't mind the ****-talking around here, I think it only happens in the Mk5 and Mk6 sections

I agree that the colour-coded slats do pay homage to the previous generations (Mk3 included, which I favour the most ). I also belong in the tiny camp of people that didn't like the honeycomb grille on the Mk5 GTI, so seeing VW go back to the slats gets a big high-5 from me.

I think that you, and anyone else that read your post and didn't realise your errors, should read the rules of the forums. Specifically:
    * Any dealer, or individual who works for a dealer, that wishes to join our community must make themselves known and declare where they work. This will be by way of PM or email to one of the Administration or Moderation Teams.

    * Dealers will be provided with a special rank and custom title showing which dealership they are associated with.
In addition, creation of multiple accounts to get around the rules of the site or rulings of the administration team could also lead to a permanent ban. In the case of dealers, this could also affect the accounts of the other members of their dealership.

So please be a bit more polite and make sure you know the rules before making such statements.

    Cheers.

While style is a subjective thing I'm not really a fan of the honeycomb grille (reminds me of a 70's or 80's Japanese car)...

Nice set of wheels you have there (not to mention the ones in the garage) - and being in San Francisco with a schmick looking GTI maybe I could live my life vicariously through you..

    Regards,

sorry, but orient express could easily have overlooked this forum- god knows that there are plenty of legit us forums for vee dubbers.

but he goes out of his way to make himself known, and gets met with "the wheels are lame"?

way to make a bloke feel welcome. no wonder why so many foreign countries view aussies as drongo backward s**tkickers.

orient, welcome. part of the spice of this forum is the fact that when it comes to vee-dubs, many of us are worse than a mad bitch on the rag. dont take it too harsh.

p.s. before any naysayers ask me how i came to that statement re aussies, ive been an expat kid since i was 6 months old.

    cheers.

Everyone's entitled to their opinion. Dealers and moderators are no exception to this.

I love the look of this car, the slats make the front look way more aggressive in conjunction with the xenons. I wish people would go to those sort of efforts here to individualise their cars. But unfortunately, we don't have such a massive fan following

a red I indicates it has a little more power
Well I do have an APR stage 1 ECU upgrade scheduled for as soon as I get 1K miles on the car. Do you think that would count toward a red "I"?

Well it makes sense to have the red I. I think every stage should be represented by a red letter. Eg when/if you go stage 2, you should have a red T as well.

So does that mean a Golf R owner will have to buy some extra "R"s and have them painted red so everyone knows what a powerful engine they have ?

I went the other way on my Octavia and removed both the "OCTAVIA" and "VRS" badges from the back end, it looks much cleaner now (and leaves people wondering just what my car is if they happen to end up behind me after the lights go green )

GHW and Pixl, how about easing up on the dealer-bashing. Dermot makes a light-hearted comment about Citroens and you are both in immediate attack mode for no good reason.

This community has room for everyone, it isn't a private club where some members can decide they don't want a particular member to be here just because he works for a dealer. I find it very informative to get the dealer perspective and inside knowledge at times.

Dermot, feel free to express your opinion on whatever you want to, and ignore the small minority that seem to have a chip on their shoulder for some reason (and it's not just this thread, I've noticed this dealer bashing elsewhere as well).

There, that's MY opinion expressed (and I feel better already).
