    Good day Mate and welcome

The front paint job on the bottom of the grill looks great! What paint did you use? And how did you apply it?

As for some of the comments, dont mind them, people get a little strange on forums, i am sure they are good guys in the flesh. =D

way to make a bloke feel welcome. no wonder why so many foreign countries view aussies as drongo backward s**tkickers.

orient, welcome. part of the spice of this forum is the fact that when it comes to vee-dubs, many of us are worse than a mad bitch on the rag. dont take it too harsh.

p.s. before any naysayers ask me how i came to that statement re aussies, ive been an expat kid since i was 6 months old.

    cheers.

I went the other way on my Octavia and removed both the "OCTAVIA" and "VRS" badges from the back end, it looks much cleaner now (and leaves people wondering just what my car
I think I'm in that group, and I have not even seen your car. That is one of the Eastern European Brands that VW acquired years ago, yes?

The paint work was with Glasurit paint, and I applied it by taking $200 out of my wallet and giving it to this guy to do it. I did a pretty good job on it don't you think? To my credit however, I did disassemble the bumper cover and install the painted parts.

s far as the comments go, I find you guys very, well, "Honest" in your opinions. Fine with me.

I have never met an Australian or New Zealander that I did not like, no matter how weird they were. You guys are in the place to be!

In fact during my pre-purchase research into the Mk6 cars, I specifically spent some time looking at .AU sites that discussed the MK6. You experiences showed me that it is is a good design and was going to be hot here in the US.

    Thanks

Yes, Skodas are VW mechanicals under a different body, and built in the Czech Republic. They are positioned as the VW "budget brand" in Europe, but in Oz they are generally better equipped for the same $$$ rather than cheaper.

The Octavia is Golf based, while the Superb is similar to a Passat (but with a slightly longer interior).

Could you take $200 out of your wallet and get him to do mine then?

Sure, but you have to bring the piece in to be painted. They do not do pick-up.
