4300k puts out the most light (although some osram 4800k bulbs are quite good performers).
I know - but having tried the standard 4300K bulbs, 6000K and 8000K bulbs, I found that things are clearer with the 6000K ones, personal preference...

What's is Correct setting? Who knows, but comparing it to the non xenon GTIs, I guess (IMO) it should be:

Light Switch '0' - only DRL (little parking lights) - nothing at the rear
Light Switch 'auto' - depending on the ambient light (all lights on or all off except for the DRL)
Light Switch 'parking' - only DRL (little parking lights) - and the rear lights
Light Switch 'on' - every light on regardless of the ambient light.

This is how it is on other cars, so I believe should be the same. Plus, here in Oz, DRL are not compulsory (not yet) as in Europe so why should we shorten the life of the bulbs. I know they last longer but the moment you are outside the warranty - then it will happen.

    Cheers.
Yes that is what i what i would have thought! So im guessing my car will arrive 23rd of March working incorrectly? :|

I was wondering about the life of the globe and the fact that it would always be on :|

I thought there was a way to turn the DRL's off by a combination of buttons or the VAG-COM.

My car's equipment description shows "Daytime headlights with low beam assistant and "coming home" funcation" with code 9I3. Does it mean the low beam is DRL?

That combintion applies only on the halogen fitted cars - doesn't work on xenons

Does running the low beam constantly as a DRL's make the Xenons not last as long?

Is there some way of enabling that little light underneath the main xenon light as a DRL's?

    Seems abit half assed?

I can only assume you're a troll because no-one can ask the questions you do and ignore the answers that are given in plain english

This was answered on page 1. The life of the bulb is expressed in hours so what do you think.

There is no way of enabling the parking light as a DRL as it's a parking light used for parking the car hence the name parking light.

Thats all good and well, but im sure I have seen pics online of BOTH of the little lights under the Xenon's on while the car is driving.

How can that be a parking light then?

Is it different for each country and what their design rules are?
