has anyone experienced this while accelerating hard?

i got a 118tsi dsg and i put it into S today (to give the turbo some much deserved exercise), floored the pedal and off she went.

revved to about 6500, maybe a little more and then it felt like there was loss of power before the next gear bit. it kinda felt like a horrible gear change where you're thrown forward from engine brake then backwards from the surge of torque. the turbo made an odd sound too, instead of the usual pop it sounded like it got choked on something and had to cough it out (sorry, thats the best i could do with descriptions )

i couldnt find a proper place to redline (and beyond) the engine again to see if it was just a one-off incident but otherwise it feels the same. any clue what was going on, or could it just be traction control trying to limit torque since i was technically going uphill with a little turn.

mine has that problem amongst other issues, I'm most likely taking it to the dealers soon.. I'd be wary, for me that was one of the first signs of something going wrong with the DSG, along with rough 3-2 downshifts.

I think the DSG just took a fraction longer to do the gearchange there?

Happened to me twice when changing from 1st to second. I assumed that I had hit the rev limit cutout.

That's not your rev limiter is it?? (Not sure what cut out is on a 11

Or, does the turbo bleed off boost above 6500rpm in this engine??

Doesn't the DSG downshift when you floor the acceleration pedal?

The DSG will automatically upshift when you approach the rev limit anyway
