    GTI Turbo Oil Leak

Having just read Mirsad's interest in mfl's oil issue over the turbo, I thought it might be worthwhile to let you know about this:
I had a bit of a problem with an oil leak from the engine on my GTI. I noticed a small amount of oil, about the size of a 20 cent piece on my garage floor. I'd clean the floor and within a day or 2 the same sized drop of oil reappeared.
When I had a look under the car, the right side of the back of the engine block was wet with oil and the oil lines to and from the turbo were dripping. After extensive investigation by my dealer, they checked the turbo oil lines were tight and resealed the timing covers.
Almost as soon as I got it back, it was leaking again.
I had a look at the engine and found the leak was coming from the timing sensor. It took one more visit to the dealer to show them the leak and to get them to order the part from Germany.
On the third visit to the dealer they replaced the timing sensor saying they found the housing was warped.
They said was the only case of this they had seen, so I haven't mentioned it on the forums.
Might be worth a look in the area of the timing sensor if you have an oil leak.

Got my GTI serviced today at Elite Euro formerly Golfwagen in Wangara. I seem to have the same leak that you spoke about. Have taken it to the dealership as it is still covered by warranty. They have to get parts in from Sydney so won't be getting to fixed for a couple of weeks. Let's hope they can fix the first time around. At least i can still drive the car but just a bit disappointing when I've only had the car for about 9 months
