    GTI service costs

    Hi Guys,
Wondering if people can list where they had their car serviced, which service it was, and what it cost?

Just want to get an idea what I'll be in for...

    Thanks

My MKV GTI DSG cost $380 for the 15k service in November of 2008. That was from Denlo at Parramatta, NSW

Highway Auto in Brisbane $300.50 using Castrol 504.00/507.00 oil (this is the minor service at 15k, 45k etc.

    Oil changes are ~$160.

do we have to follow the service log book or do it at every 7500km/10000km for good caring?

It's driver preference IMO. From other treads here I've noticed that there are a fair few guys here who do oil changes at 7500km just for good measure and peace of mind.
VW do give recommendations if you drive your car under severe conditions, as detailed in the manual, however, if you stick to the 15000km intervals and something breaks, VW can't reneg on the warrenty as you're doing what you've been told per the manual...

but there is no harm in servicing it earlier than needed... The only thing it will hurt is the back pocket!

but have a search around the forum, I think there are a few treads on this topic and oil changes, etc.....
