As effective as they may be in enforcing scuff-free driver ingress, they do require quite a lot of maintenance, not to mention the damage they may introduce to other areas. However, they also double up as a fantastic car security system.

The one on the floor will go for the offending scuffing foot and the one with zombie eyes will go straight for the braaaaaiiiiins.

I am going to get some Mk 5 GTI scuff plates and fit them to the Mk 6 GTI when it arrives in early July. I love them on my Mk 5 and the car just looks unfinished without them! Been quoted $250 fitted but hopefully my dealer will throw them in for me, I did after all get another sale for him by taking my old man down who dropped a deposit on a Golf R!

    That's fair...

Any idea how hard they are to fit? Assume they will fit on MK6, don't know if the part # is the same?

I've ordered some of these inserts:

They are made by a member of MKV from the UK, gulfstream11. Details on this thread.

Just wondering if it would look too full on having both but one or the other would be good at least, looks a bit plain with nothing..

I am 99.9% sure that the the Mk 6 has exactly the same sills as the Mk 5 (being basically the same car). They have not said to that they won't fit. I would imagine that it would be an easy job to do it ourselves. Must be double sided tape or just glue I'd imagine, will look into it because if I can $100 in fitting that can go towards my first 2 days in fuel usage when I pick up the machine in July!
Those GTI badges on the seat heaight levers look pretty cool and would probably look ok with the GTI sill covers as they are grey script.
