Question GTI - Front cup-holder lining missing

    Hey all,

Hoping someone can help me out here.

I've had my GTI for nearly 3 years now, and have lived totally oblivious to the fact that the front cup holders have no lining:

Since i had nothing to compare it to, i just assumed thats how they were. Obviously i was wrong

Since its been so long since i took delivery, there's probably no point going back to the dealer i bought it from (and they're a couple of hundred kms away to boot). My local dealer seemed uncaring about the situation, so im wondering if folks have any advice about where i could pick one up (either a wreckers/parts place in Sydney, or online) and if its a simple thing to install...

    thx
    Nick

Take this part number back to the dealership's spare parts department, and place an order.

No trick to instsalling it. Just drop it in the hole, and push it down so that it sits neatly.

thanks for the quick reply - any idea how much i'd be looking at for the part? would it be worthwhile ringing around a couple of wreckers?

    No idea.

Wouldn't be too much. Worth ringing the dealership first, then try the wreckers.

As well as the main asy & the bottle opener I think there might be a rubber insert to cover the screw heads. You'll also need the screws.
The full unit with the liners etc is about $50 on eBay

There's also just a basic cupholder unit without the sliding lid. They are about $25ish

Nah brimway, that part i do have I've been using the cupholder as designed, with the bottle opener acting as the divider. It'll be nice to have the proper lining now

I see now. It's just the mat that's missing?
