    GTI 6 in Singapore

A mate of mine was in Singapore a few weeks ago, walked past the new GTI 6 at Clarke Quay.

    It's growing on me.

Spotted one while I was in Bilbao recently in a VW Showroom, they're nice, but they just dont have the same feel as the MKV...

    Why is it so?

I also had a chat to VW Australia about the Golf V getting the 1.6ltr FSi engine becuase we wanted to buy the golf, could only afford the entry level as a second car and was baffled as to why such a heavy vehicle had such a low output engine. The long and the short of it is i was told that the Australian market is so small we can't justify deviating from the current range

Apparently we are not big enough to justify having choice but Singapore (with a population of 4 odd million) is????

Skoda, its probably more to do with the australian compliancing laws, rather than the size of the market in absolute terms.

singapore's market is smaller, but if they just bring them in and drop them straight on to the market, it might be more affordable than aussis importers jumping through the flaming hoops that our ADRs require here
