3 Door looks better overall - but the 5 Door is much more practical.

I went with the 5 Door in case of kids in the next 2-3 years.

I got the 5 door. It is just so much more practical than three, i am always puting stuff in my back seats. I do not usually have people in there but that few time you need to drive more than two it is such a mission getting in and out the back, especially for us tall people =I

even in terms of resale value... With the 5dr you've got a wider audience to cater to. All the middle-aged ladies and gents with families, that market probably wouldn't be available w the 3dr...

You dont lose any cabin space with a 3dr - 3dr look better, 3 door are rarer ( which could help with resale) and I dont care what people say 5 doors like like a honda civic..

At the end of the day, not everyone who buys GTI Golfs have kids so thats my 2 cents - and oh yeah 3 doors are cheaper.. A no brainer for me

A GTI is a 3dr, simple as that. Anything else is leeching off the legend, haha.
