But they stay in the front seat
You know you are getting old when you cancel your order for a 3.6 CC and buy an Icelandic Gray TDI CC instead.

I've never fully understood releasing the EXACT same car in both 3 and 5 door. Get a 2 door sports car if you want it - I've personally owned one - but why sell yourself short by buying a 3 door car that can come with 5 doors, just because it has a couple less lines on the side?

I've always liked the 3 door versions.

The B Pillar is further back, which means the driver and passenger doors are much larger than the 5 door versions. To me that also means when I'm in the car there is more sense of 'space' because the door drive extends further back (longer arm rest and door pocket etc) and there is no B Pillar in my peripheral vision.

As for the look of the outside, it's more than just the few less lines on the side due to the lack of the rear doors, it's the fact that the entire side view is different. The rear side window shape in the 3 door Golfs are completely different than if the doors are there.

(I'm sorry, these aren't exactly from the same angle, and are even different models, but both MK6).

If both kids had their P's the 2 door would of been the pick or a CC or would that be a Scirocco .

    Cheers

Just the door/window line on the side.
I mean, it's no more silly than saying that just cause a Golf has 3 doors that it looks like a Civic... I mean, the 90's Civic came out 20 years after the original 3 door Golf etc etc

I think it is good to have the choice - if you want a 3 door you can have one, if you prefer a 5 door than that is on the menu too.

My previous hatch was a 3 door, and besides the obvious issues of getting people into the back seat I found it was much more difficult to put heavy or bulky objects on the back seat, the doors were more difficult to get out of when room was restricted (because the extra length stopped them from opening as wide at the driver's seat), and it was a looong reach back to the seat belt.

Hence I now have a 5 door (wagon), but if anyone prefers a 3 door then I say go for it and be happy

I washed 2 cars yesterday. This is an argument for 3 doors (and against black)

    I wasn't rushing but... 1 hr 40 mins

Damn, that looks good, though. You can see my Bedford reflected in the door.

    40 mins

that does include interior vacuum and clean, vacuuming mats etc on both cars.
