James just came & asked me about the forum & the price & he is 100% correct (and no need to tell him to bugger off - he is just doing his job, you asked a question & he answered it).

Here is his answer: (read from the bottom up).

The old model (MK5) has an EDC 16 controller, and the MKVI has an EDC 17 controller, completely different systems & tool sets as well, and unfortunately a completely different price.



They may be making reference to the MKV model.



Certainly if Volkspower were to be doing a MK6 at that cost, they would be losing an awful lot of money.

Seems a bit pricey there James, I’m being told on the VW Watercooled web forum that people have had it done for $1695 with warranty.. Is that Volkspower’s price or RRP? No way am I paying $800 more than someone else got it installed for.

Volkspower in Burwood (03) 9808 6777 carry out these upgrades on the MKVI.



Cost is $2495 including warranty or $2295 excluding warranty.

If you only Believe it if its on a forum,

the prices on the Oettinger upgrades are:

EDC 16 upgrades, including MKV 103, MKV GT & similar with warranty $1695, without warranty $1595

EDC 17 upgrades, including MKVI, MY 10 Jetta's EOS etc. with warranty $2495, without warranty, $2295.

Volkspower have all the tool sets to do both versions now.

Let us know if we can help out with any other information, some of the cars (Like the Jetta) you can not tell until you plug into the car.

Diesel... James @ Harding Performance emailed me back and said Volkspower in Burwood, VIC can do it and that's the price he gave me. $2495.

He said it's a MKV (EDC16) vs MKVI (EDC17) thing and the new one costs a bit more to make, etc etc, blah blah...

TDIJetta09 - Is yours a 125TDI Highline (EDC17) or a previous model diesel?

Yeah mine is the previous 103kw engine. Sorry for all the confusion.
