FWIW, the Megane RS is a great car, very very entertaining, moreso than the GTI & R in my own driving experiences.
Infact, it ran my current car close to winning a spot in my driveway. GTI & R, whilst nice, competent, lovely, all that.. Not a patch. Even with my 'working for a VW-owned company' discount, they still weren't in the final running.
In the end, each to there own. I bought what I bought, due to it tickling my pickle the most.
Handing out infractions/bans for mentioning a different(and/or better, depending on what you want out of it) brand car ain't going to help the wider view of GTI/R owners in the community

Seems that way Fab.
Back on topic, if I can remember what it was after all that trash talk
I am so bloody happy I went with the R over the GTI. The car continues to impress, especially in this wet weather.
Our MKV pales into insignificance. The one redeeming feature of the GTI was its ability to be a little more nimble. However, the rest is overwhelmingly in favor of the R

I doubt that I would buy a Renault in the near future, but I would certainly not class Renault as a crappy manufacturer
RS250 ****s on the VW's for driving connection/thrills and cornering ability, we should all know that.
But you dont spend every minute on a race track or twisty road do you... however; if I lived near the village of Nurburg I would have bought an RS250.

Bet this thread causes plenty of people to gain weight given all the popcorn needed. It's WJ's fault....
