OK all you R guys I hold you all responsible for me placing an order for a new R yesterday. Black with leather sunroof satnav and RVC. I was very happy with my 2009 GTI DSG but you all made me do it . I hope you can handle the guilt!!

Scirocco, no leather option - that sucks! VW will miss a lot of market with that one.

I agree with the leather option thing, but I somehow don't think VW are overly concerned with Aust rocco market at this stage of it's run, I think they are treated it similar to the MK5 GTI Pirelli.

Talk to Candyman, he has just moved from the GTI to the R. He will tell you the only advice you failed to take was to get it in RB

Thanks guys. The decision I labored over was DSG vs manual. I am an old codger and like the feel and control of manual. Went DSG based on all the insights here.

I've only driven a DSG in a Pogo GTI....was nice but, I love my manual Golf GTI.

Great effort by Mini to convert the more 'relaxed' Americans....
