Yeah. It's just a shame that in Australia, the "new GTI" is 2.5 times the cost of the old one, is already "sold out", and comes in such a gross orange colour! hehe

Even so, with a higher state of tune on the S2000, it felt sluggish. Things only improved after my friend changed the final drive which improved the acceleration but crippled top speed.

That said, with a convertible form factor, like with the S2000 and say the Boxster, with a good exhaust note, the cars do "sound" fast and with the wind in your hair, feels fast too, even if the car isn't.
No he was acutally refering to the "American" Accord with a 2.0L that he drove overseas. He said it was luxurious and had electric seats, and made his Mazda 3 felt sluggish and not much slower to the GTI

As usual, JC spouts utter gibberish and slavish parrots who claim to be "car enthusiasts" will blindly repeat it until it becomes clear.

    Pathetic.

Well given the Aussie dollar you can get a cheap online subscription..

    Now back on topic..

    The R comes in Blue
    It is AWD
It looks better from the front
It is faster than both GTI & R32
    DSG > Manual
R drivers are better than GTI Drivers
And cloth is better than Leather cause it is warm on cold days and cool on hot
And best of all it doesn't come in 3 door..

That should get the juices flowing again because we haven't covered any of that yet

And you forgot the most important thing - every other Golf is a GTI, where is the exclusivity in that!
MY11.5 Golf R - Candy White 5 door - still giggling like a child when I drive it!

Having driven around Brisbane recently noticed quite a few. Seen at least 3 MkVI GTIs with one having the LED DRL and LED tail lights and one R. Think the stance of the R looks meaner from the rear with the central twin vs the two tiny side exhausts on the GTI. But I still *heart* the LED DRL on the front of the new GTIs
