Check out the Boy Luff's driving style. No flat shifting, cruching ripple strips or extraneous hand movements-just blindingly quick.
Does it every time in about 2 laps from cold in cars he's never driven before.I think it's called "talent".
Don't you just hate people like that.....
P.S.Thanks for the end credit Guy.Royalties to the usual address..
    Cheers

No wonder all the fanbois here are rushing off to APR for a Stage2+ for their GTI / R
Check out these 0-100 / 0-400m times that "Wheels" has done recently
    Golf GTI man - 7.2 /15.0 secs
    Golf GTI DSG - 6.6 / 14.8 secs
    Golf R man - 6.4 / 14.6 secs
    Subaru WRX - 5.4 / 13.7 secs
And all for $500 less than a 4 door GTI.
Then a visit to MRT and keeping full factory warranty would be even more spectacular.

It's been discussed many times I'm pretty sure. The WRX gets to 100km/h in 2nd gear whereas the GTI/R needs to shift into third to hit the hundred mark. That affects the time quite a bit I would imagine

I thought the 0-60mph times on the R was like 5.x seconds.. why is it so much slower to 100km/h?

Dealt with a million times before. R need to shift to third. WRX doesn't need it. It is meaningless on the street (as in completely meaningless) and everyone is well aware that a WRX is damn quick but not as nice inside.

I didn't buy an R for going in straight lines to exactly 100 and then stopping.
    Audi S3. Sold

    Citroen DS3 Dsport. Sold

huh?? I don't see what you're getting at?? I own both 08 WRX and 11 Golf R and a friend has 10 STI. In reality the Suby's have nothing on the VW.
From factory (ie no mods) the WRX has nothing on the R. The STI is quicker, but not by lots. The VW is way more refined and better built. It's easy to see and feel the quality and technology. Whereas the Subys are severely lacking the WOW factor.

Camrys are what you drive when you're ready to get old and die. The equivalent of motoring euthanasia.

Love the pissing contest though. My golf is better than your golf. Blah
