What's a good price to pay for a demonstrator 3dr DSG GTI? It has over 2000kms, 18s and parking assist.

I keep looking at it thinking I should go for it, but the only thing that it lacks for me is the leather option.

Unless AdamD was referring to changing the tonal pitch of the exhaust note by varying the throttle opening via the accelerator then the use of modulation in this context is inapplicable.

The challenge is the demonstrators on offer exceed the cost of ordering one with options.. there is a premium on getting any that available.. just check out carsales they range from $62 - $65K where you could order a brand new one from the mid 50s

Yeah - modulating the throttle is a rather comment description and expression. Although I also know the musical and signal definitions Brian mentioned, I also knew this definition too. Thanks for confirming that AdamD was correct

Indeed. There was a demonstrator R which was advertised for $64-65k and has been sold I believe.

This demo GTI I'm looking at is just a smidge under $50k, as are all the others I've seen.

This is a website dedicated to enthusiasts. Usually these enthusiasts will enjoy the performance, acceleration, handling on all kinds of vehicles - as to us enthusiasts a car is not just A to B.. it is something more.

I agree.
Most GTI drivers won't ever put their car to the limits required to activate the XDS.

Having siad that, the XDS will be enough for almost all GTI owners since no one is going to be pushing their car that hard.
So if the only selling point over the GTI for the R is the AWD system then i don't see the point in laying down extra cash to upgrade.
