To be honest, I believe to lighter weight of the Scirocco R balances out the difference between itself and the Golf R's AWD. This has been reflected on many track times between the two.

I have GTI but I KNOW that AWD is better...
Just step on the throttle mid corner in GTI you get understeer and lift-up-oversteer all at once it's just messy and undignified.
not only that try launching your car on a slight damp day all you get is furiously flickering ESP light and nice rear view of Falcodores infront of you...

I would have bought an R for driving in the 100-200 km/h on autobahn since it is such a great all-rounder grand tourer. Problem is, there's none in Oz, so...
    You forgot one factor.

Dirt road driving. AWD feels much more stable than FWD

Here's a quote from two GTI owners:
"What's the point of tuning my GTI when I don't even have enough traction on dry roads in stock form?"

    Enough said lol.

"Because someday, someone who can actually drive will be behind the wheel of your car"

Any other lame quotes you're going to manufacture?

Not everybody tunes the car just to get a better acceleration from stand still although I'm tossing between spending my money on the new version of the sat nav or an ecu upgrade. I could get both if I decide to use bluefin.

Full stage 2 plus decent tyres and some suspension work; and traction is barely an issue. Only an issue when it comes to 60' times, for everything esle that amount of power doesn't overwhelme the chassis much at all.
