Depending on the offer, tyre and wheel protection is worth it.

Not offered by many general insurers without an excess.

I have already had one rim replaced FOC, due to a slight road rash.

As with all of these, look at the detail, the offer and perhaps it might make sense to get it when you pick up the vehicle, perhaps not.

I wanted to go through all the offers rather than just ignore them blindly.

My dealer told me not to bother with the dealer warranty but I did get the VW factory extended warranty from Allianz, mainly because of my experience with my GTI. VW's break and when they do, they break the bank too.

i didn't ignore them blindly... it was an hour of careful consideration and repeated "no thanks, i can see where the value in that would be for some people, but not for me thanks"

wheel protection was the one i came closest to buying - the wife badly gutter-rashed both rear wheels on my bmw. but the car still worked fine - it was just a cosmetic defect. plus the wheels were so dirty when i had it valued at vw that they didn't even spot it

i did have the first gutter rash repaired though (under insurance, non-at-fault accident) and it looked like they did a good job, but within a month the repair seemed to just 'fall off' with severe bubbling happening under the paint of the adjacent non-scratched bits. decided to care less after that, but to each their own

Candyman: hey, i changed my order since the original one won't build until next Jan, and expected deliver in Apr, which I can't wait that long, so swap the order into other already build and wait for load to the boat, got VIN number from dealer yesterday. i have to give up the white one and miss the dyaudio option, what i got is Rising blue and addition RVC, surely the price a bit cheaper now.

chylld: ya, I didn't get any sort of rip off protection from dealer, even the window tint. Coz i know they are useless at all to me. And I can find better quality and value from aftermarket.

They replaced the wheel. Not repaired.

Also had the policy pay for a puncture repair and balance

Has more than paid for itself many times over

The real rip off is the car itself

Massive margins and yet people buy them

    Good to hear dyljoy.

Pity about the colour, the RB is OK but blends in with other blues too much. Not as nice or distinctive as the old blue.

Fully understand why you compromised though.

    Our appliances are stainless ?

Not sure what you mean unless VW have released the R in stainless ?

Would be a bit too much bling for me.

should have asked the dealer for remorse protection while you were at it!
