^ ive got some angle cut Magnaflow tips on the way currently.
The ones ive bought are a 4inch diameter tip which then tapers down to 2.25inch to mate up to the stock exhaust pipe where it comes out of the muffler.
Most of the aftermaket catback exhausts have either 3.5 or 4inch tips (like Scorpion / Milltek etc) so these are very similar to those.
I got the idea from a few guys in the USA who have had them fitted to their R's for a while - no melting issues reported.
Unless the tips were physically touching the diffuser, then you shouldnt have any issues. The tips ive chosen have about 1cm-1.5cm clearance from the diffuser.

I've got rear ones only, they're ok. Just don't get ripped off by the dealer like I did. eBay has them for half price.
