Who me? and what Beemer?
Current Ride: MY 16 Daytona Pearl Grey Audi S3- Performance Pack 1, Sunroof and Driver assist
It could be just perception, but the beemer feels like it has more torque at the lower end, that is on take off. With the R it feels a bit wheezy until its gets past 2.5k rpm
The beemer had a more linear torque curve but the R feels more brutal once you past the magical rev mark. It could just be me needing to get used to turbo
I think I really need to drive the R in manual mode often, ashamed to admit it but I would say 80% of my current driving is in D…

GTI - was selling it, just out of warranty, dealer talked VW into a goodwill replacement (slightly jerky in reverse). Figured it would help sell the car (it did)
R- had one false neutral, told dealer, immediate replacement. I didn't even ask for it. Apart from that one time (which was really my fault looking back) it was flawless. Still is.

I did around 85,000 in the GTI.
DSG never had any real issues
The R's (as I said, mine) is faultless. D mode for me is much better than it was in my GTI. I combine paddles with D mode and usually S mode on the way home. Usually once a day I use manual mode when I want done fun.
S mode is good on mine, not as manic as the GTI
The only thing I dislike is the FBW setup on initial throttle response. I'm going to fix that though
