my toughest decision in the morning is whether to take the 6 month old R to work, or the 1993 MX5.
If it's wet, it's teh R's Gig. If it's a glorious day, it's the mx5 easy.
It , even though is a 20 yr old car, HANDLES better than the R. communicates better than the R too, and is a far sharper drive. It's a manual too (would never buy an Na/Nb Mx5 in an auto) as opposed to my fabulous DSG in the R, and it is just so engaging.
However, it's seats are nowhere near as supportive as the R, and when I do go on a long drive, the R is the pick. although if it involves some twisties, i'm willing to momentarily sacrifice my back for some significant wide smiling....
Mine's a 20 yr old limited edition example (with Hardtop), and I can not ever see myself parting with it....
Even with teh 19yr old oem suspension in it, it handled brilliantly.. even better with the Tein SuperStreets! Oh, and it has never used a drop of oil..... (
