Test drove a Roc recently and agree with the interior comments - The Golf R has nailed the interior, even compared to more expensive German makes.
Visibility in the Roc is woeful, but it does look great. If it was AWD I'de consider it.
Btw: if you are wondering what happens if you low your front-right tyre at 248km/h in an R I can assure you (as of yesterday) that the car doesn't completely loose it and can be pulled up in a relatively controlled manner! Though a spare pair of jocks along with the spare tyre would be a plus!
Ah, that's "blow" not "low". An aunty has a private runway on her property, so couldn't help but see if I could max out the car.
I was still building speed at 248 but running out of breaking zone so touched the breaks a the tyre blew. I'de damaged the tyre earlier but thought it looked ok. Pretty stupid really!
The drive home on the 80km spare was almost as scary. Apparently B-double rigs don't mind slowing us down, but hate being slowed down! Lots of 20 ton monsters right up my butt, flashing and bleating.
I wonder how a Roc would have reacted at a blow-out at that speed being FWD?
I agree with this, more info is needed.
In regards to the woeful visibility of the Roco, basically any new car from 2008 -> "requires" parking aids due to increased safety features = more metal and less glass so you basically can't see *****.
My brother's Mazda 6 is terible for visibility, you can't even tell where the front of the car is let alone the rear.
I would have thought having a blow out at 250 would most likely pull the car around and flip it/crash it into something.
There is a video on youtube with a racing porsche that is under control but you would think a GT3 is slightly different to an R.
Props to keeping it under control.
