Yeh me too probably, it just took me a little longer to admit it to myself. Thanks guys for making me come out of the closet. (That could be taken out of context if previous replies aren't read first)

Yes but there are 3 things that must never be discussed

    1. Religion
    2. Politics
    3. Other men's wives

Now if you wish to discuss anything that relates to being a dirty old man then that's OK

Oops, dirty old men need to be read their boundaries once in a while. I was just skimming through emails and all I could see among the hundreds of words was boobs.
Ps: My Golf R observation is I have cancelled my order.

I have been doing a LOT of thinking lately about my Golf R order and have been asking myself if I really want a Golf R. It did seem like the logical step after a GTI and after getting caught up in the VW hype and all but to be honest it just aint for me
Yes the interior is great the build quality is right up there and they are a pretty looking thing with the DRL's, LED's and all but that stuff doesnt get me as excited as response and driving feel or a car that has character and involves you in the drive something that is a bit more animal and lets you drive it how you want to with more feedback and involvement. You have never heard anyone say a Golf R is a exciting/involving to drive have you? Other than forum members.
I have driven 2 Golf R's, one highly modified and the other bone stock and they did drive effortlessly and easily but with bugger all feedback to the drive and just left me pretty underwhelmed.
So! I have decided to cancel my order and have my eyes set on an ex-demo or used Focus RS and if that doesnt go to plan my back up idea is to grab a new RS250 Megane. Both cars are pure drivers cars with a much more responsive and adjustable chassis which is what I love the most, interior quality not up to par with VAG but who cares.. its about the joy of driving and nothing much else for me.
Still totally respect VAG and they nail what they do but I think I am not in that targeted market.

Fair points and exactly what I have always said.

All three are great cars. It's just up to the individual to work out which one fits their needs best.

I was very close to getting the Megane instead, but needed a bit more practicality and highway comfort. If you don't need that you will love it to bits.

    Boooobs......

The Golf R is the WRX for dirty old men. The R is more an all rounder type of car. Does everything well in a refined manner.
