I noticed recently when washing my car that there are a number of black spots, that I can only assume are burnt oil, up the rear bumper & tailgate.
We aren't talking shed loads but enough to notice.
Firstly has anybody else noticed this?
& secondly should I be worried?

Mine has exactly the same mate, as you say it's not a lot but certainly noticable. I just assumed it was crap off the road, maybe not.

Yeah i get the same thing, its carbon from the tailpipes, and an absolute bastard wash off and remove. Very stubborn, and it almost stains.

A good wax job will make it easier to remove, but you cant stop it from happening.

I haven't noticed it. But then I have the Ventureshield and I spray Permanon on it after each wash. Tar and grim just washes off.

A quick question please regarding the Milltek cat backs.

Am i correct in saying the resonated is not much louder than stock and the non-resonated still retains the flap in one pipe so is also pretty quiet at idle and low revs? I don't want anything too loud except for when giving it a boot full.

I figured the same as both my cars do it, damn hatch area sucking up every bit of crap! Just being white the Polo stands out like dogs balls compared to the R. Cars are nanolex sealed, R usually just hoses off or wipes away with mitt. The polo gets neglected by the missus so I've given up trying to keep it clean heh.

I wouldn't be too worried about it to be honest. If the car was running rich as hell, the white cars would have the whole area above the tailpipes completely black. Both my 32GTR and XR6T's in white after a few tanks were left a dark grey for a good 30-60cm area around the tailpipes using Shell (Sootymax we called it hehe)

Have enjoyed my R for three months now. Finally the DSG and I have gotten to know know each other well and I love it!
Observations (complaints?) the external mirror motor/heater dial has less feeling than Hitler.
The gutter at the top of the doors fills with rain, then empties into the Car (all over the door switchgear) if you lower the window.
The MDI iPod interface hangs (if you have Bluetooth) a few seconds after inserting the iPod. You always have to unplug and reconnect the device.
Apart from that, what a car!
Anyway, I'm sure it's been discussed somewhere, but can anyone recommend an APR dealer In Sydney? Hoping for good service and recommendations on a stage 1 tune

Mate, you'll love it. Sucks serious fuel for the first 2k or so - don't panicked!
Yes, I understand you concerns re the DSG. Have always gone manuals to date, but based on test drives and reviews I took the gamble and am so happy I did.
