The socket is labelled MDI but it is a simple socket like for headphones.

Hmm - Seems like they might have screwed up the wiring in my car a little...
When I turn the nob to the right to adjust the right external mirror, it adjusts the left mirror instead - When I turn it to the left it will also adjust the left mirror, for some reason I can't adjust the right mirror at all... I also think the nob is a bit cheap and flimsy personally as well.
Not sure if anyone else has mentioned this but I really think they got lazy and left the hand brake on the wrong side of the car, it really should be on the right side next to the driver and the cup holder near the passenger... Anyone else think that as well ?

Not sure about the mirrors mate, sounds weird! The handbrake is a bit far, but since I don't use it a lot whilst driving it's ok where it is, now if I lived on gravel roads it might be different
FYI my wife has been driving the R for the last two weeks while her Jetta get's some panel damage fixed and the left exhaust pipe is sooty whilst the right is clean! Told she needs to wear heavier shoes to open it up a bit :p

I think you should have a quick browse through the owners manual in relation to adjusting the mirrors...
Depending on what options you've got set in the MFI, when the right mirror is selected, it will adjust the left and right mirrors at the same time. So you adjust the right, and then adjust the left.
I don't get it.. People talk about their Rs exhaust always having one clean and one not..? Mine are both equally disgracefully dirty right now.

Yeah....even before I did the flapper mod both tips got equally sooty. Don't know what it is about people not enjoying the car enough....come on people, give it a bootful.

Yep most of my driving is in city traffic where the DSG doesn't let me get above 2000rpm and both my pipes are equally dirty.
