I don't think it looks too bad, I guess it is different from the quite subtle golf R now which could be a good thing as most people here are spending ~$70k so I guess 'some' people would like to have their R look 'prettier'

MKV GTI Pirelli
Yes the EVO VII .... interior was a bit to harsh hehe made for the hardcore driver who didn't give a damn about interior and the ride wasn't comfortable at all.... Well I do really prefer the Golf R due to having APR nearby for a stage 1 / 2 upgrade later onalthough am sure I can find performance upgrades for Evo X from AMS but not close, yes am looking for something thats very faster from 0-100km but also livable... I do currently drive a 2007 honda legend, If I did have the money I would go for a Audi S4.. I love that car... At the end it all depends if the dealer will meet my budget in terms of the golf R because it is the best all rounder from what I gather reading. Hopefully the VW can meet a 5.5% discount!! :\
I see a new trend with the MKVI range - Production Limited Editions that are all show only - No performance upgrades. Sign of the times? Audi reigning in VW (can't have a VW with the same performance as an equivalent Audi)?
just to pickup on the post purchase experience, many have been ticked a myriad of options for their new R now you are down the path is there any regrets or thoughts that some or any of the options are just not worth it.

I got the Recaros and MDI which weren't on my initial order and am very happy!
The Recaros are awesome, some of the most comfy seats I've ever sat in and they look cool to boot! I like that they seem to be a pretty rare option too.
MDI works really well for me, i was going to make do with the sd card but after having tried both - the MDI is the way to go. Sits nicely n the console hidden and out of the way.
I think i would have still liked the ACC, but its fine without it. I also missed out on Dynaudio, again, it would be nice but the standard stereo is an impressive bit of kit for a stock unit.

I'm really happy with every one of the options I ticked on my car (see my sig). Living in Adelaide I'd be prepared to forego the satnav next time because I don't get much use out of it, but it is an excellent unit nonetheless. Every other option I'd choose again without hesitation.
(And yeah, I'd have gone ACC too if I had the choice again.)

Sold: 2010 MkVI Volkswagen Golf GTI DSG
Only options I didn't get were the 19" wheels, which I don't miss, the recaro's, which are less comfortable for me, and the electric drivers seat, cause I have a 3 door... having said that, since it doesn't have a memory function, I wouldn't have got it anyway.
The rest of the options are great and I use them every day.
Mine is only coming with MDI, Dynaudio and bluetooth. I'm happy with that.
Current car has leather and to be honest, won't miss it.
I have a good sat nav so no worries there.
Current car has a sunroof and don't use it much to be honest.
Only thing I really would have considered is the ACC
Audi S3. Sold
Golf R. Sold
Citroen DS3 Dsport. Sold
2016 Skoda Octavia RS Wagon.
Options I have...
Leather- A personal choice, a must for me.
Sat Nav- It's a very clunky interface but does the job. Nice to have it integrated with the car but for the money I'd be happy with a portable unit.
Dynaudio- Nice to have, happy with it.
MDI- Useless for me so far. I mean it works with my iPhone, but it is so painfully slow to select songs and look through folders that I just plug the iPhone into the aux port and select the song on the phone.
Sunroof- Personal choice, happy with it.
Electric seat- Love the adjustability of it compared to the manual version. But no memory function....
ACC- Awesome, very happy I got it.
Options I don't have...
Bluetooth- For the one occasion a month my phone rings in the car it would be useful, but happy to live without.
Reverse Camera- Would be nice to have I guess, would probably get this next time.
Recaros- Personal choice, not for me.
19"s- Ride is firm enough thanks!
