In terms of handling, I've not thrown the Legend around much, but it did feel very grippy despite the bodyroll (which was pretty well controlled actually - better than I was expecting, and every bit as good as the Accord Euro CL9 I owned at the time).

The Legend is larger, much quieter and more cosseting - a better long-distance cruiser. But the R still does a fine job, and I'm sure you'll have no trouble getting used to it.
Yes the legend is extremely smooth but not much down low either, I dont really think the legend is quick in general, on the handling its very good abit of body roll as you said but it grips very well with the SH-AWD even I get suprised every so often at its abilities, but am young and want something abit faster I will look at another legend if theres a new model in the future but for now I have my sights on a R and a stage 1 with it My R will be ordered with ACC so no idea if that will make the cruising on soft more cossetting like the legend. So long as the R has that " push you into the seat acceleration" and on rail handling ill be happy and giggling like a kid again.

There's no question, the R will give you that - especially with a stage 1. It is in another league entirely once the turbo spools up, and would leave the Legend for dead.

The ACC will certainly make the Golf more comfortable than without active dampers, but it still won't be as soft and comfy as the Honda. Give the R a bit of throttle and you won't care a bit.

That's pretty uninspiring imho... maybe it's just because it's black and that makes it hard to tell the diff from stock though. Not a fan of the wheels he's got either, but that's just my taste I guess.
