Clear/clean oil
Looking underneath the car theres quite a bit of oil around , I'll try post a picture soon.

FYI, Oettinger & APR no longer share any financial involvement, Oettinger have new Owners & are continuing along their own development path. They have their own engineers / calibrators & development facility.

The warranty is a big part of the product (and considerable component of the cost).

i shall check the oil filter this evening
Am i right in thinking the oil filter is located on the bottom side of the engine (behind the plastic coverings?) and accessed from underneath?

I doubt many R owners have had reason to change a filter yet.
Might be worth asking some MKV Pirelli owners, given they run the same engine...

the oil filter is covered by a black plastic cover (same shape as filter) an has a large hex nut on the top of it. u need to take that off to get to the filter. from memory it was located at the front of the engine?

Has anyone that owns a Golf r experienced an oil leak?
Notably after first checkup/service, prior to this there were no issues

Any ideas what could cause there/if there any easy fixes?

1) dirty mechanic didn't clean up spillage.
2) didn't replace the crush washer / sump plug correctly or didn't tighten properly or over-tightened & cracked the sump.
3) incorrect replacement of oil filter. left the 0-ring in place & put another on top; didn't tighten the drain properly, etc.

not much else to stuff up really.

We have seen a couple of R's with that sort of oil leak, after cleaning it up & running them, they appear to be weeping around the main sump line. This is a sealant joint.

ah yes, this is something my mechanic had advised me of prior to purchasing my R.
