Took it to a dealer and it has to be booked in to fix. Service guy warned me not to try and remove it.
Hey wooduck...yeah that is a full spoiler removal to fix that, went thru it with my Mk5 GTI.

Now with my R the rear washer drips water and has to get the rear spoiler removed for the fix.

Thanks for the pics - looks sweet!

No offense to 5dr owners but are the front doors even long enough for you to rest your right elbow on 'elbow rest' while driving?
Yeah, there is extensive coverage of this in the 3 vs 5 door threads of the past. Volkswagen seem to be particularly bad in this regard as when they make a 5 door car, they make the rear doors quite decent sized for easy rear seat access, whereas some of the other 5 door hatches I've driven (or even have now) sacrifice the rear door size to give better front door size.
This means the 5 door Volkswagens create trouble for tall people getting in and out (6'3" etc) and also place the B Pillar in an average sized person's peripheral vision (5'7 to 5'10) or puts the B Pillar COMPLETELY in the way of a tall persons side view.
The 3 door however is wonderful in these regards. Though, it can mean an issue in car parks such as REXman stated... though why you're parking your car where someone could dent your car is beyond me

Yeah I agree that it's a PAIN in the @$$ for passengers getting in/out of the rear seats - which is made worse with the bulky Recaros. Good thing I don't have kids yet hahahaha!!!!!

But boy I can say that I'm very happy with the look of the 3dr, outside and now inside too! By the way, my Rego sticker calls my 3dr a Volkswagen Coupe lol!!!!!

yeah I'm 6'3" and to be honest it doesn't really worry me at all in regards to getting in and out. Enough room for me. Everyone else including the Mrs and kids couldn't be happier they all just love the 5 door R Another thing I'm loving is how little parking space it takes up compared to the previous family taxi. So nice to be able to sneak into tight parks and have less worry about hitting the gutter or the back end of the car sticking out too far!

It's a known issue for the Golf in general. There is a TSB for it. Some people have had TSB performed by the dealer with success, others haven't.
Some have found that simply not filling the washer reservoir so high has resolved it!

I have three kids and of course the decision was tough to go three doors NOT!!!! A three door R is NOT purchased with passengers in mind.

I went three doors for no other reason that it's cheaper, better looking and I don't have children or any other STD's.
