If you drive an R and are worried about what the hot weather will do it, don't.
Remember that is why VW short changed you a few kilowatts on the aussie spec engine, because to live in a hot climate country.

We've had some ~40 degree days here. Whilst I have noticed that it drops power on days like that, so does any turbo car. But I mean, it's not like I'm doing time trials or anything, so it hasn't really bothered me. I also don't really do much with the AC - I just leave it set to 24 and it's fine, night or day, hot or cool. (On my MKV GTI, I set it to 22 and didn't change it. 22 on my R is uncomfortably cold, but 24 is nice).
Spoke to a VW Head Mech about the oil temp... he said these things will go to 130+ no worries... havent seen mine go past 94 tbh...

Driving to and from work: 30% of that is bumper to bumper - temperature 104 - 109 degrees, otherwise it is about 98 degrees.

Yes, but again, you have a GTI....
Golf R ftw
Hey guys,
I've just taken a good look at a 5dr Golf (the one I saw was an R) and was shocked to see how short the front doors are!
Pics here
No offense to 5dr owners but are the front doors even long enough for you to rest your right elbow on 'elbow rest' while driving?
