Yeah I know you did, but you're not an official rep from the company that I know of so while you might be right, it doesn't change the fact that part of the info I based my purchase is written as I said.

Other cars getting 188kw doesn't have any relevance to me as per the usual dyno variances. I think mine is a fair representation for my situation as its before/after and the same conditions.

The DSG appeared to be difficult to have stay in 4th gear in manual mode as too much throttle early on seemed to want to drop a gear. I don't know if they need to just floor it or not or if it was a true manual how it would change things at all. As I said, I'm just putting my experience/observations out there.

It would be nice if the dealer I went to had a dyno facility to do before and after runs but AWD dyno's aren't exactly cheap to have sitting around given they don't do any of their own tuning. I know the other APR dealer down here does but getting out to bayswater is a pain in the arse.

I understand the variances in dynos... they are sucky. But my understanding is Fab_R's was on the same dyno on the same day, and there shouldn't be such a large difference in peak figures between your car and his. That's the point that I'm trying to get at.

As for DSG being difficult to stay in 4th gear, as long as you are above the minimum speed (~1300rpm) and it's actually in M, and the operator doesn't go past the resistance point of 100% throttle to hit the kick down switch - it should stay in 4th.

The Stage 1 tune has an improvement but IMO, APR's claims are slightly misleading. I'm not interested in peak numbers, but was hoping for more power much earlier.

APR have been missing the mark on most of its tunes I've ever seen. Not a single APR 9N3 Polo GTI has got anywhere near the claimed numbers, and the APR tunes are a good 2-3psi down on the rival GIAC/REVO tunes.

That said, very suprised on the low dyno reading of your stock tune. Barely above 140kw @ wheels... which is not 188kw @ fly (my MY05 WRX WRP10 did 140.3kw @ all fours stock, and it was 175kw @ fly).

Could be a low dyno though.

Forget the actual numbers, just look at the differences, comparing to other cars or dynos doesn't mean much. I'll try and get onto the dealer/APR later today and have a chat about the results, just a bit busy this morning.

Exactly. It's the delta between the before and after which is what's important, not the peak numbers due to dyno differentiations.

Those suburban streets in the vids have been revised to 100kph zones? Fantastic news!

Interesting videos racing up and down the street but where are the 1/4 mile times to compare against? Any gtech times on those runs? We all know tuners stats never live up to what's advertised as some posters have already stated and assumptions of 12 second stage 2 golf R's cars are fairy tales unless you put your money where your mouth is and go to the drag strip. I pulled a 13.74 on my runs which I already posted so I'm keen to see what all the stage 2 boys can pull....

Guys, very obviously, 1/4 mile times cannot be done on public roads, so please stop asking for them.

I also don't see any videos anywhere of people racing up and down streets. Just because you have WOT doesn't mean you're racing. You can still use WOT in short bursts whilst obeying the laws.

Was that stock or stage 1, I don't recall?

My issue down here is calder now charges a stupid $80 to goto the drags which goes to that fat **** bob jane who never seems to reinvest anything in making the facility better. As I understand both QLD and NSW have much better facilities, though not sure of the cost. Every time I've been to Calder, its 4hrs of standing around for 2-3 runs at best.
