Quick questions on the LC, do you need to floor the accelerator with your foot on the brake? Will it limit itself to 3000 rpm? I've tried a few times but haven't floored the pedal

Dont worry!!

Yes just floor it and the revs will initially "seem" like they are going to jump through the bonnet, but they dont, it stabilises and goes to somewhere between 2800-3200rpm.

Mine sometimes does make it launch at 3200-3300rpms.

Hey no probs!

That sounds like a plan, I would love to take it down soon myself too, all these different times and methods for driving a DSG! Who would have thought it would be more complicated than a manual!!

I hope I can crack a middish 13. Less than 13.8 and I'll be stoked, for a stock little brick like the R.

6.3L/100, G-rig thats pretty damn good. I'm on about 12.9L finally as an all time average.. I was around the 16 mark for the first 3-400km's. There is just no where left to give the car a hit!!

HAHAH I wish I could agree SilvrFoxX but the launches are pretty soft! 3000rpm isnt exactly snapping off the line!

If it was 4750rpm<X.. then we are talking some G-Force. In that case, that diff your holding would belong to me!

Its hard for me to see a soft 3K rpm launch that has a gearbox that sort of thinks before it goes, as brutal.

My rexies copped 5K rpm+ SNAP! launches for years with no hiccups and some people called them gearboxes soft!!

Back on topic a DSG mod for 4500RPM launches would be perfect for 0-100.. or imagine an adjustable RPM control!!

The R has that many gadgets, I almost dont believe you cant already do it.

The HPA Stage 2 DSG tune will elevate the RPM to 4750 for LC! I may seriously consider getting this tune!!

Yeah, the 4750rpm launches would be great for the occassional launch. Keep in mind guys, that you can launch at whatever RPM you want to - it doesn't have to be at the "max". This was very important in the Stage 2 GTI - you'd often launch at 2000 or less....

I'm still on just over 14L/100 after 2000kms.... Having too much fun still I guess. Going away at the end of the month, so I'll find out what the freeway economy is like, betting sub 9L/100 would be easily done.

I wonder if that tune still does the soft launch though? Be nice if it launched with the same impact as the gear changes!
