You can pay over 2.5K on fancy "sports modes" options when really its just a throttle re-map with a slightly increased rev limiter threshold, a big scam IMO.
I would suggest that for a few hundred dollars it is not as intelligent as a high end or even a mid tier Jap car with the i Drive, Si Drive which does the same thing but is far more sophisticated. Not withstanding the reviews give it a thumbs up for overcoming that electronic delay

Important.. No.. desireable.. maybe .. Individually we all hold different things as important to our driving experience, if this floats your boat then I guess it is important. But back off the philisophical side it is more of a question about snake oil and perceived beneift for buck .. this one smells like a Suabru STI rear wing on Hyundia Excel.

Each to their own, it's far from snake oil, but rather an electronic circuit to help correct electronic e-throttle lag used most modern cars. I must have wasted 20 years working with snake oil.I suppose air-con is snake-air that only appears to 'feel" cooler...
Anyway, back to my initial point before it went OT with this sprint booster discussion, that the "lag" experienced by BezzR (post APR) may not be lag but more so throttle delay.
I drove a Golf R in Sg in March 2010, and it didn't have any lag (in drive) that I noticed and I was driving it as I would my Pirelli. I suspect now(having also after test driving a local R) that the one in Sg was tuned (VW Sg has a working relationship with APR - cars can be bought pretuned with APR). This initial test drive caused me to report (incorrectly in retrospect ) that the R's acceleration was linear with no noticeable lag.

Heh - not just the dealer, the entire VW SG! (Which I guess could be just a single dealer, given how small Singapore is)
dealers in Oz can not demo in a Staged R without telling the potential purchaser of the mod.
I've talked to the APR people and they take heaps of cars directly from the dealership, carry out the modes and deliver as spec'd.
Would current R users have paid $850.00 more for a 238kw R? I would have considered
