Yeah. They're not really a new feature. Been around for at least a decade on various higher end cars. I guess they're another one of these convenience features that are slowly trickling down. I figure since they already have electronics in the mirrors, it probably ads about $1 to the overall cost of the car

Yeah I've seen websites/videos that teach you how to install them. I reckon they look awesome in the dark when you unlock your car!

Wow! For that price, I think they need to include another engine in the boot!

    Many thanks for your email.

With regards your questions the system we have designed is to be installed with the OE downpipe and catalyst assembly or the Milltek Sport downpipe and catalyst assembly, we would not be able to confirm fitment onto any other aftermarket downpipes.

The system comes in 2 versions, resonated (this meets the standards to receive TUV/EC approval) or non-resonated (gives approx 4DB increase over stock).

The system will be available in stock W/C 22/11/10.

    Regards

Yeah, my 03 RX-8 had them, but I'm sure Mazda call them Ground Illumniation Lights or something.

No way I'm tearing my car apart to retro-fit them though

Sheesh! is that what they were for, I thought they lit up the interior like the wheel well lights or to let traffic coming up behind know your door was open! and here I had the car for 4 years (and the wife's 6 for 3 before that) and never once used it to look for a puddle before I stepped out

I'm sure lots of cars do, I've never noticed them before nor do I see the point of some of these features.
