    4db is noticeable difference,
To give you an idea, in audio terms a 3db gain requires 100% more amplfier power.
10db requires 10X the amplifier power (volume works on a logarithmic scale)

1db (by definition) is the smallest increment noticable to the humar ear.
(how this is defined i'm unsure as i would think each ear is different?)

Yeah, I understand sound pressure. But whilst every increase in 3dB requires twice the power, 10dB in volume is only a doubling of what humans perceive as volume, and even then only in frequencies that humans are most sensitive to. I personally can hear <0.5dB differentiations when adjusting the volume on my home theater, but the average person cannot differentiate 1dB in the time it takes to get out of one car and into another...

I reckon the black would look awesome. Don't know about cheapening the look of the car. Then again I love the black rims and then some don't.

And as for 4db, that would definitely be noticeable as 3db is doubling. And you want it to be street legal.

I like it but I contacted lambros at Hitech and he said he'll fix me
Up so I'll be guinea pig for their product just like I was putting on the quad set up on the standard Rex. Great exhaust also and very affordable. I'll be sure to put up pics when and if this car ever comes.

Again, 3dB is not a doubling of the volume. It's a doubling of the "power" required to produce the volume.

For example if you have a little desk fan which produces 40dB of sound pressure (volume). If you then turn on a second identical fan, you are doubling the power, and you increase the volume by 3dB to 43dB. To double the volume you actually need ~10 times the power (or about 10 desk fans).

Cool. I look forward to seeing pictures and hearing the results of this.

People do have a pretty poor hearing memory, 1db would be very difficult for them to recall unless they heard them almost simultaneously.

Even though it's not double the volume ,I think 3-4db over stock noise would be noticeable,
Personally i think the stock exhaust is too quiet... so that's a benefit

I would like to some more pics and some you tube clips, as per usual.

I think the black tips could look really good, especially if you opted for the 19" black rims and black head lights.

Milltek are from my neck of the woods back 'home' in pommie land ...

I've sent an email to a mate that works at another business on Pride Park () & also asked my old-man to get a price for me! I'm sure it would be OK for him to bring it over as hand luggage @ Christmas!

On another note (off-topic) the b00dy Tombarra has been out of range for 3 days ... Modern technology tsssscch!

Be prepared to see it out of range for up to 10+ days at various points. Also, since when is VHF radio transmission "modern technology"? It's what they've been using for radio transmission since at least early last century!
