The wife has a previous gen Liberty GT , I've got the R. The Liberty is a nice place to be, the interior quality is better than the R. The Liberty has had excellent reliability, but is heavy on the fuel.

Subaru have definitely dropped the ball with the styling, interior quality, technology more recently. The current Liberty - horrible!
Golf R, 5dr, Silver, DSG, Dynaudio, Nav, Leather, Bluetooth, RVC - luvin it

Life is too short, just do it. I had APR stage 2 put on at 2000km (now 11K) and have never looked back, just love getting in the car every day.

They are so far behind in equipment, technology, refinement and build quality.

Styling, that has always been rubbish except perhaps the last model Liberty
So that's probably why Subaru has one of the highest retained values of all makes in Australia (and higher than VW) and also has a high degree of customer loyalty. lol

Some people are just stupid eh (suckered in by advertising and brand) ....

The buying profiles of Subaru customers are well known and not difficult to understand why your comments apply to them.

I was one of those customers, would never go back based on what they are doing to the brand, moreso in current models.

The Australian public love Commodores too.

I have to agree with Candyman, I too was a Suabru lover, they were a cut above Oz models in features, tech and quality and the benchmark for all the Jap models. Over the last decade they have dropped the ball in all aspects. Their primary target is the US market and with the recent partial purchase by Toyota their models are getting more bloated and designed for the masses.

They are slowly turning the corner but until they start investing in competitive technology especially in their design and gearboxes I fear the competition will continue to keep ahead

Had a birthday lunch through at a seafood restaurant in Darling Harbour today. Beautiful day, great company, fantastic food

We parked in a timed zone area and got back in time only to find three people taking photos of the R.

They all remarked on how great the car looked and wanted to know how it went (two Americans and one French)

So, in addition to enjoying my birthday, I also had a head swell from the admirers (of the car)

Not bad from a cheap car like the R
