Thank You,
No I do want it loader just more response. But what is exhaust flapper??
You can make ECU and hardware changes as early as you want. Even the Stage 3 Golf R used in the Motor Hot Tuner challenge was built within the first few hundred km of its life. It's purely up to you and how long you're comfortable waiting to ensure there is nothing wrong with your car.
Stage II requires at minimum the downpipe (with includes the cat) to be changed. Optionally you can change the full exhaust, intercooler and air intake.
The DSG is fine for Stage I, II or III. However, if you intend to compete at the traffic lights GP all the time, or track the car regularly, clutch packs are worthwhile (though, same is true for the manual gearbox too).
The APR kits are always meant to be drivable. My Stage II MKV GTI was very drivable, even in the wet.
Brakes are ok, though if you go to the track it is always recommended to upgrade them.
Exhaust... you'd have to test that for yourself!
In Sydney, Derek at European Autotech is the man you want to talk to.
And the exhaust flapper is a flap that is present on the stock R exhaust. It opens when you floor the car to give a louder response. You can modify it so that it stays open all the time. The APR TBE exhaust, and other "full" or catback exhausts thus far have deleted this feature. I believe that Milltek will be implementing it into their catback exhaust for the R.

Tune i $1695, Air $575, Fuel pump not needed as yet, inter cooler $2000, Exhaust varies in prices full $4000 and yes must first listen for drone, half Not priced, down pipe $2500 plus labour for install.
This is an inexpensive tune.

I will also invest in some track rubber and second set of rims. tyre choice pilots 50/50.
