Oh Sebs girlfriend is out at eastern creek atm in the R with a 1/4 mile terminal speed now in the 114mph range, still not as quick as Sammy freshly built GTI beast but where are all the other R offerings ?...........
(sorry can't find the 'don't know' smiley so this will have to suffice)

Ok I agree with you now. It is metal and it gets damn hot!

Observation: The Golf R clutch is bloody hilarious compared to the GTI's featherweight thing.

The Golf R clutch is heavy and the biting point is way down pedal travel compared to all other vehicles VW make in a manual.

Is it a HD Clutch? It bloody feels like a mates Evo 9 with one. I LIKE IT.

    Golf R Observations and Questions

Got a $1200 photography session voucher from the VW dealer in the mail today as the R is 12 months old (well, was a few months back)

Are these things worth using or just throw it in the bin ?

Edit - called the company to find out more

Free artwork is 20x20 or 12x30 canvas

Complimentary champers and tapas, 1.5 hr photo shoot. Wonder if they would do the car

Not paying for anything but getting a professional 20x20 canvas and champers and tapas (plus the wife is very happy about it)

Never got anything like that from Denlo with my GTI.

Nice touch by the Bill Buckle guys (plus they have some more VW gear for me for Xmas)

Re: Golf R Observations and Questions

Got the same thing (well $800 voucher) from Chatswood Classic Cars about 2 months after purchase, completely useless gift as not transferable and I was away 90% of the time before the offer expired...(not to mention I don't have any family to make it worthwhile). I wish they just gave this as a discount, or gave a jacket or rear luggage mesh or something.
