Can someone confirm for me if: Mk5 FSI Stealth Oil Catch Can Solution - is a complete solution for a MY13 Golf R? I'd rather not have the intake system gummed up with **** on such a nice car.

Also are there any VWWC discounts on their gear?

Yes i have the 42DD Stealth catch can on my R. Its essentially the same basic FSI engine as the mk5 GTI's had so the catch can fits. The only difference is that the can is mounted on the passenger side of the engine bay behind the headlight, as opposed to the photos on the 42DD website which show it mounted on the drivers side of the engine bay.

I have the same catch can on my R. Only thing is my oil temp is now running 3-4 deg hotter during cruising. Have any of you noticed the same issue or is there anything else that may cause it?

^ thats a bit strange.....are you sure its not just the fact that the weather is warming up this time of year? My oil temp is generally 85-90degrees around town/normal driving, yet raises to around 100-105degrees if im having some fun with it.

I installed it about 2 months ago and noticed it once I had it on. My oil temp used to average around 87 it now sits around 91 doing the same drive to work and back. Once I stop at traffic lights the temp drops fairly quickly back under 90. I know it's getting warmer but since I installed it in winter I don't understand why. I am thinking of putting the pcv back on just to see if the temps drop back down. Just have not have had time to do it yet.

So, how much for a manual Golf R with full VWSH, brand new tyres and 63,000kms on the clock?

I'm guessing mid 30s for a private sale. Any advance on that?

This behavior is normal as the oil ages during the service life between oil change intervals the operating temperature will rise.

Just something I'm mulling over. I'm doing a lot of work kms so doing the sums to see if a diseasal makes more sense.

I'm not too fussed if it doesn't
