    1) 3 door. I had 2x 200sx's and im over the big heavy doors. And skinny driveway plus skinny garage mean annoying.
    2) No leather interior.
    3) DSG only apparently (according to my dealership)

So ill just admire the Scirocco's good looks instead.
Hmm thats slightly incorrect....there is a manual option for the Scirocco R as far as I know. Its roughly 2500 cheaper than the DSG option.

Completed the first part of our trip (in Brisbane now)

The R was faultless and got through unscathed except for minor chips on lower front bumper (covered with Chipstick now)

Car washed and another layer of sealant applied

    Averaged 7.5 l/100

Wife did better than me in that regard, go figure.

    Bumper stayed on. No rattles.

Kempsey and Macksville were traffic jams but rest was light traffic.

More than 20 cops on the way up. Plenty of cars pulled over incl a MKVI GTI

Excellent fuel consumption.. I went up to Lauriton and best I could manage is 10.9.. Stage 1 drinks a bit, but overtaking is a blast

Wife accidentally floored it going from a 50 kph zone to a 100 kph zone

Fark, pushed back in the seat and chirp from the tyres.

What a retarded comparison. Even one eyed freddy could tell she's got a rockin chassis.

The Rocco has a nice face but the backend is all serena williams. Each to their own.

pretty random question, but i've made a very slight observation due to the heat and wanting my windows down all the time

on the R, when you hold the unlock button down on your key fob, has anyone noticed that the rear windows go down the same speed, the front two windows are a little out of whack (i.e. the passenger side window goes down faster than the drivers side)

might just be my car because the drivers side window makes some squeaking noises as it winds down.

I'd hazard a guess you just wind your driver's window more frequently, and the window rubber seals have worn a little more (or the dealer has applied a treatment...), resulting in varying amounts of friction between the windows.

The superglue trick didn't work on the broken rear cup holder as the notch broke off again, however wierdly enough it seems to function ok and close correctly without it so I left it in. Will see how it goes for now.

Yeah as someone said before kids and R's don't really mix lol. As ours is the main family car (it was either the R or some crappy family taxi) got no choice, esp when the Mrs drives them around during the week while I walk to work (10min walk so yeah save the environment and all that good stuff hehe). Still, I have trained my kids fairly well with the R now although I still find the bloody food wrappers, foot dust prints on the back of the seat and crumbs etc in the back seat annoying though but its better than not having the R and driving a Falcodore around. Nothing a regular wash and clean can't fix
