for me, it's a toss up between white or silver. either one would have black wheels.
I am lazy. It just took me over 2 hrs to mow the lawn, and that has to be done every 2nd week otherwise it takes much longer...
WHite and silver + low maintenance, but dont be fooled, they are both very hard cars to colour match and refinish.. but essentially that is not my problem.
Black castors? These wheels look much harder to clean than the GTI's. and those get very dirty very quickly.. I'm no narcissist, hence black wheels.
Keep life simple...
Oh, and I like the Star Wars Storm trooper look!

pffft.. I have 2 inch scratch on the passenger door, spoke to Scratch Magic and they want $450 as it is a metalic and the whole door has to be done
As for low maintenance.. I lover the darker cars because when you have expended the effort in cleaning them they look it.. I spend 2 hours every weekend cleaning the car anyway so make it worth the effort I say

SF:
just a legitimate thought, all jokes aside.
RB is a multiple stage metallic AFAIK, like a pearl.
if you are the sort of enthusiast that chamois-es every last water drop,i dont think you'll be happy with just the door painted. they will have to blend the whole side. you will see the colour change on switching angles.
back in 2005 my silver STI had a small mark on one door. the local gun slinger said sure, no probs, flick the gun.
short story, 4 visits later, and they had to refinish the whole side of the car.
no doubt, darker colours are sensational when clean... i really like the mocca in the Passat range...but one drop of rain....

You are probably right, i don't think it is pearl though, the paint is only 5 months old and garaged all the time so should not be a big deal to match. I have left it for now and wait for a few more nasties to appear and then get them all done.. and wash your mouth out a chamois will only ever see glass.. Micro fibre is the only material to touch paintwork ( besides lots of wax and Red Mist)

R's seem to get into a lot of fights
Was down at the smash repairs getting something from the car and there were two others in for repairs
One a RB with silver 18s and the other a CW with black 19s
The RB had a massive dent in front passengers door and the CW had a smashed in front.
Not nice
Made mine seem like a brush with a feather duster.

Well they are little pit bulls.. so you don't tend to baby them too much.. cept on the weekend to get that paint to pop
And they surround themselves with tough friends

Hi Silverfox, as I am considering the same tune I would love to know what happened, could you elaborate on this and will you be speaking to Recode about it? I wonder if anyone else has noticed their R running hotter after a tune? Maybe a larger intercooler is a must?

I thought he was just referring to the fact that most/all turbo-charged cars don't perform as well on a hot day. You might not notice it as much on a non ECU tuned car since it wasn't using it's full potential in the first place.
