    Fixed for you.

The bikes will be slower around the corners. They probably weren't trying on the straight bits.

Thanks for the fix! One guy tried on a short straight but the R stayed with him. It is very quick for a sub $100k car. AM enjoying it immensely.

I do agree that a good rider on a powerful bike should be quicker in a straight line. But not by too much. lol

Best to ask the dealer I guess. Thanks.

I also think the nob is a bit cheap and flimsy personally as well.

Not sure if anyone else has mentioned this but I really think they got lazy and left the hand brake on the wrong side of the car, it really should be on the right side next to the driver and the cup holder near the passenger... Anyone else think that as well ?

Sounds like you have European or US (left hand drive) setting for the mirrors. Your dealer can re-programme this to fix it. Easy fix.

lol... um, you do realise that even in Europe or the USA where they drive on the other side of the other, that left is still left and right is still right?
I mean, left and right don't swap - the left mirror is still the left mirror.....

    ok.

i was a big fan of the r32, yet to drive one, loved the sound of them myself. can always pick a 32 from a mile away... when i heard the golf r was coming with a 2 litre motor, i thought, the characters gone.

    until i drove it.

went into barloworld on the weekend and spoke with a salesman about it. eventually i figured, ah to hell with it ill drive it n see what its like. and woah.

the thing is amazing. now i havent driven the r32 as yet, but the r, in my opinion, is just wow. i drove the dsg 3 door, so good. i took my girlfriend along with me and she just loved it also. im normally a manual fan but the dsg is such a good box too. so smooth.

im going to go and drive a manual to see what the difference in drive is. im a manual nut, but we will see.....

All the local tyre places look at me with blank expressions when I mention its a VW. lots of options for Commodes and Falcoons.

    Is offset 45?

FWIW I am looking for a 18" wheel predominately in red and black.

Corey, feel free to move this if required?
Try AMG Australia they have a few styles for the R. They are light weight so may not like potholes on our poorly maintained roads.

You must be very patient. Did ours at 1500km. You don't have to use 100% of the performance all the time. It makes a big difference but only in Sport mode and above 2500rpm. You can still potter around in D very sedately with no problems. In fact around town in D it stays below 2100rpm most of the time unless you give it some throttle.

If you select "adjust both mirrors" when adjusting the right hand mirror (in Aus car) the left mirror will adjust in parallel. Seems in this case adjusting the left mirror adjusts the right. I do take your point though.

Can someone explain more regarding the exhaust flap being discussed here at present. How does it work?

Hey BockeyT, can you please stop posting multiple posts in a row. If you want to reply to several different people, just quote each of them and copy it into a single post. I've merged your posts together....

In relation to the mirror thing, we've seen the same comments previously from a handful of people who have said that adjusting the right only adjusts the left. After it has been pointed out to them that it's adjusting both and how to use that feature or disable it, they then have realised that there is no problem. Thus far we have not seen anyone come back and say that there is in fact a fault. In any case, Gregar is yet to update us on it...

In relation to the exhaust flap, basically at low engine loads and RPM's, the flap is closed to make the car quieter. When you push the accelerator past a certain point and theload and rpm's are high enough, the exhaust flap opens and the car gets louder. This way you can have a loud and sporty exhaust for when you're driving spiritedly, and also a quiet exhaust for when you're cruising.

Thanks for the info re the flap Corey. Learn something every day.
I am new to using this forum so now know how to use the multiple quote feature.
