lol.. I rather have the satnav.. for those that want to mod go for it, I think the R will be a classic so want to leave it as stock as I can

Really pleased though that you are getting such pleasure from it , makes me want it sooner

Just ran some numbers and it would cost an extra 8 bucks per week for the full modification... hell, we paid more for the ACC and SATNAV, truth, I would rather have a milltec exhaust then the satnav.....
can you seriously do that? please say you're not just taking the piss... i could look it up but i want it to be true so badly.

Can't really compare to the pumps for GTR's etc to the direct injection stuff, totally different fuel delivery systems. (Unless I've misunderstood the technical stuff) Could be worse, I believe the 135's have 2 of high pressure pumps and they cost more to begin with.
Wowser 135 has 2 pumps!! That is going to be EXXY! I guess I just need to accept my NOT premium car, has accessories that cost a fortune!

Anyhow so If I got the DP first and only, and drove down to APR, I would just ask for the STG 2, right? Is that what you mean, just get the DP first and then get the tune?

I only want to have to pay for a tune once.

LMAO @Kents. Yeah its the same reason I am keeping the beast a bit more tamed than usual. Then again a tune and DP will be perfect.. 0-100 in 4.5 sec?? Whhhhhhhhhaaaatttt!?!?!?!??!!?

Yeah, as dave_r mentioned, you'd need to ask who is going to do your tune. There is no "Stage II ECU software only" price on the APR websites.

Certainly the APR one is (based on my previous experience with them). I can't speak first hand on other manufacturers though.

Next question: What is the HPFP for the R capable of flowing?

Info for the HPFP is on the APR website, pretty sure it explains the flow rates/HP potential?
Yeah, what dave_r said. Volkswagen have two fuel pumps. One in the fuel tank which maintains 7.3 to 72.5psi and sends fuel to the engine bay.
Then you have the HPFP pump in the engine bay which maintains 435 to 1595 psi into the fuel rail!!!!! (Figures from the MKV GTI engine self learning guide.. same pump). The pressure limiting valve on the fuel rail on the 147kw engine was set to 1740 psi (120bar). The fuel rail then has the direct injectors connected to it.

So yeah, very different to the old modified Japanese cars.

The fuel delivery capability of both the stock and the APR HPFP depends on the engine revs. There is detailed information on the APR HPFP page. Suffice to say, the APR HPFP is capable of handling the requirements of the Stage III cars (and I'd say even the extremely rare Stage IV cars).

Make sure you investigate the tune first...
If the DP is of sufficient enough performance, you could (should?) have trouble driving the car from whoever you get to do the DP to whoever you get to do the tune. The engine may put itself into limp mode due to not knowing what the hell is going on with its sensors.

Possible, however most ECU's should learn and adjust to any new add on's ie to intakes/exhausts so you shouldn't have a problem. Not sure of the VAG ECU's though, be worth checking for peace of mind

I'm just going off the "disclaimers" / "warnings" from top end downpipe manufacturers for VAG cars who say things like "Updated ECU software will be required with this product" etc.

    APR Full Exhaust

Hey guys, i just want to say that the DP & Hi flow cat set up only is vastly different in sound compared to the the whole TB full exhaust.
The gear change fart sound is a little weird with DP only and Cat only, as well as under full throttle, it has no comparison to the APR full house set up!

The full APR exhaust is the way to go, and sounds tough when opened up and more complete than just the DP and Cat, and almost standard sounding when trundling along.

The difference in performance I believe is also improved with the complete exhaust done,
Remembering the restrictions in the rear muffler and tail muffler would be significant to meet sound restrictions.

If you can afford it, do the lot! Even if it is in two parts.

You're an evil bastard! I just spent 2 days convincing myself that pump/DP/tune was enough and that was after the past 2mths being convinced that just S1 tune was enough....
