    1 & 3 I wouldn't bother as they are factory revs.

Just have your dealer check item 2 during servicing.

If the DV is a diaphragm version, then I'd much rather change it to the factory piston DV. People have had troubles with aftermarket DV's such as FORGE and a lot of people revert back to stock piston type anyway.

PCV valve was prone to fail on the MK5's which is why I also took this precautionary measure.

CAm follower, better to be safe than sorry. Personally I dont trust the VW mechs with intricate things like this so I'd much rather get it looked at by, say, Derek from EA or someone.

Still looking for a catch can though....unsure as to which one most people use

Piston type DV were standard from MY09 onwards on all FSI engines.

Won't hurt having a spare Cam follower..

Is there a VAG-COM setting that allows the dash lights to be turned on without reducing the brightest of the driving lights?

I've never noticed that in my Golf - in my previous 18 year old Toyota sure, but not in a new car.

Found a nice new video of the R. Some cool wet track driving and great Nurburgring Nordschliefe action. Could be higher rez and in english but still very cool tho!

Im sure this question has been asked before but I would appreciate some insight.

When I switch traction control off in my Golf R it seems to still be on during hard cornering and bring light oversteer back into line.

Is there any way of turning this off or is it a deal with it scenario?

    Thanks guys

What you are referring to is Stability Control rather than Traction Control.
In the Mk6s, VW stability control (ESP) cannot be turned off totally only Traction Control.

I always pop mine up and had the issue initially but I'm sure there is a more distinctive click when it gets to the closed position. Though I have overshot it a few times and looked like a clown staring up at the roof button hehe.

And another $500 for a button that let me turn off ESP as well! So much grip, but still has the fun police system kick in!

Have done about 1950km's so far and really happy with the car (even with some rattles on the door trims which I haven't got around to having sorted out yet). Averaging 14.1L/100km's but on the few times I've managed to show some self control, the car can easily do sub 10L/100 around town, just isn't fun! My replacement DSG paddles are still wrapped up and haven't bothered with the satnav upgrade yet. A package arrived from CarCarProducts just before xmas so it finally got a bit of TLC after 3 weeks of neglect!
