Guy_H had sway bars in his Stage 3 R - so I'd say that suitable product is available already. He also adjusted at least the camber. I believe that they increased the camber to improve the track handling but sacrificed a bit of standing acceleration performance. But as he replaced the suspension and all that, maybe that is all aftermarket stuff as well...

We used the H&R sway bar set, nice, off the shelf & different sizes available depending on your needs.

For suspension, we disconnected the ACC factory struts & used JIC Cross Japanese version coilovers, they have an integrated top mount that allows over 3 degrees on negative camber on the front. We also use our own version of a rear castor adjustment bush on the control arms.

We run the same setup on our GTI, but with APR sway bars on the FWD cars.

Yeah but he changed everything hehe so I'm not sure if there is any info on just minor changes to see if there was any worthwhile improvements. I'm happy to loose standing acceleration for overall improved handling but I'm not gonna be a track warrior. So just looking BFYB improvements on the street.

Thanks, knew there would be products around. But have no idea what size is suitable. Will start with Volkspower in the new year and go from there. Don't feel like being a pioneer with this stuff!

Thanks for the info. Don't want to replace the factory struts or have overly agressive alignment settings which are gonna destroy the tyres.

    Dave,

Select your sway bar configuration (different sizes) after you have decided on what springs / dampers you are going to run. With a good set of dampers & coils, you only need minimal sway bar upgrade (better way of changing your spring rate & vehicle balance).

Don't want to change them, as I purposly optioned in the ACC. I'm happy with the ride, just wanted to dial out a bit of the understeer? If there isn't much gain to be had in swaybars or the alignment stuff like anti lift kits then I'll just leave the car as is.

    Hi Guy!
Any reason you went for camber and not caster in the front?

Actually did both on both cars. on the AWD, added castor was not as important as in the FWD. The turn in & camber assisted our corner bite greatly (not to mention tire wear management!)

havent seen much about R rattles.. moreso GTI rattles..

but has anyone been bugged by a rattle in their R yet?

ive done 450km and noticed one that started on the weekend from the passenger side dash. sounds like static radio from behind the glovebox/air vent/pillar.. more pronouned when cold at about 1500 thru all gears, but has also been there when fully warmed up. hoping it's just a loose wire or something simple!

What a waste buying the upgraded sound system was, I turned the RNS510 on for the first time this morning on the way to work, magnificent sound out of the 10 speakers, easy to use - works well, BUT I turned it back off!!!!, rather hear the beautiful sound of the 2ltr in S mode doing its thing...
