I just picked up my R this arvo.

    Its awesome!

I have a rising blue manual with 19" Black wheels. The ride is fine without the optional ACC. So pretty happy.

I have just attached my number plates and checked out all the sat nav screens. Generally playing with my new toy...

Does anyone know how the tyre pressure sensors work? i cant seem to find anything in the MFD.

It doesn't tell you what the tyre pressures are. It tells you when it starts dropping in one of the tyres. It does this via a warning light. It's detailed in the manual.

    Congrats on your new car.

Definitely see plenty of GTis including 4 or 5 in the parking station I use each day.
I have still not seen one R yet on the road down my way. Only heard of some people with them in Melbourne and one in Warrnambool so far that are in my driving vicinity.

Yeah Nice one, congrats man go nuts! I am really liking it too. I thought I might be underwhelmed due to the massive wait and expectations that built up, but for what its worth over some of the competitors, and compared to some other cars I have had etc.. It just feels so much more special.

LOL true that. But I see a ****load of GTI's around here. Never knew I worked with so many VW fans though. Have had people come track me down in the office to talk about the R. One of the older guys who has had a Kombi since, new loved it!

The bloody polo kept lighting it up but pressures were fine, hasn't done it for a week or 2 now. Do you know if you can use VCDS to show any more specific info ?

As per the GTI vs R thread, came across a Focus RS last night while doing a random drive. They might be a great performance car but cruising next to me all I saw and heard was ugly cheap looking focus. And the green is ralph worthy. Look at a Golf 90TSI and apart from the wheels, it still doesn't look like a plastic encrusted crapbox. Tried to get the guy to have some in gear runs etc but he wasn't interested. Got to some lights when I was behind him and he takes off. So I followed (acceleration seemed equal) and get along side then he isn't interested again. Scaredy cat

Maybe, but it's only using the ABS sensors to detect a change in rolling circumference. Did you hold the TPMS reset button in the Polo? You need to do that whenever you change the tyre pressures.

I received a boot liner, its not the best fit, but until you mentioned here wasn't really fussed. Only two corners are a bit crinkled, overall works well. That said I took it out for now, a bit tacky in plastic.

I had an Audi A3 (or was it an S3) who was trying to be a hero on Heatherton Rd. I decided to teach him a quick lesson at the next set of lights, which seemed to annoy him, as he decided he wasn't going to do 60kph anymore, so I let him go.

Ah wasn't sure how it worked but yeh I did reset each time. Started after a puncture so might have a slow leak since repair. Have been keeping an eye on it weekly.

It's amazing how I know more Golf owners than Corollas! My previous company car was a very zippy Golf V 1.9TDI which made me fall in love with Golfs! The R is a whole other demon compared to the 1.9TDI!

Focus RS is a really cool looking car; if you enjoy video games. Golf R is matured, refined and sexy. Sorta like the M _ _ F of hot hatches.
