Are you certain that this is correct?Xenon's are backed up by halogens for "flashing"
I don't believe that Xenon's are any more susceptible to shortened life spans from being turned on or off than traditional headlights (and certainly the wiki doesn't mention this either). Xenon's are backed up by halogens for "flashing" not because of reduced life, but because Xenon's take too long to "warm up" and therefore cannot be used for "flashing".
Xenon's last much longer than Halogens, between 2 and 4 times longer, depending on the types of globes being compared. But yes, Xenon's are significantly more expensive to buy - especially in Australia where supply is not that great. You're best to purchase ahead of time and import from Europe or the USA (Europe is probably better, since the USA is not a huge user of Xenons either). But with 2000 hour average service life, you probably wouldn't need to do that for quite some time yet....

May not be the case with the MK6. I don't have mine yet!
The flash to pass halogens have been removed from the bi xenon's in the Mk6 which is one option I miss from the Mk5. One option I like is the ability to play audio from your iPhone through the stereo via bluetooth as it makes selecting songs faster. I'm lucky to use 7% of the phones battery when playing music via bluetooth for an hour.
Has anyone else found that the Dynaudio can be buggy as my unit has rebooted itself and also has became unresponsive on a few occasions?
Xenons "are estimated to last more than one thousand ignitions." - read into that what you want.

I was hoping that the various issues are addressed in a firmware revision.
I don't want the dash pulled apart to replace the RNS510.
Can someone with a golf r in possession elaborate on the foam usage in the enginebay?? All the cars I have seen have foam where bonnet rests when closed... Still there post delivery?
Another question, can you put roofracks on a 3 door golf? Normally the supports sit under door seals on 5 door... Don't think this would work on 3 door...
